Moneyhub Alternatives UK: Where to Go Now the App Has Closed

If you were a Moneyhub user, you have probably already had the emails. The consumer app has closed, and the deadline to migrate your account or get your data out was 31 July 2026. Moneyhub the company continues (it remains a substantial open banking and data business) but the app that let you see all your accounts in one place is gone.
This is a straight, useful answer to the question its users are now asking: what replaces it? We build one of the options, so read this with that in mind. We have tried to be fair about where other tools beat us, and we name them.
What you actually lose
Moneyhub was unusual. Most UK money apps track current accounts and spending; Moneyhub aggregated the whole balance sheet. If you are replacing it, these are the capabilities to check for, because most alternatives only cover the first one:
Spending across accounts. Widely available. Almost any budgeting app does this.
Pensions and investments. Much rarer. This is where most replacements fall down.
Property and other assets. Rarer still, and usually manual entry.
A projection forward. Not a feature Moneyhub led on, but the reason many people were aggregating in the first place — they wanted to know if they were on track.
The main UK options
None of these is wrong; they are built for different jobs.
App | Choose it if | Skip it if |
|---|---|---|
Emma | You want spending categorisation, subscription tracking and a tidy view of your current accounts. The biggest UK budgeting brand. | You had Moneyhub for the pension and investment side, or you want a long-range forecast. |
Snoop | You want spending insight plus active nudges about bills and switching. Genuinely good at finding money you are wasting. | You are trying to see net worth across decades rather than manage the current month. |
PocketSmith | You want cash-flow forecasting and multi-currency support, and you are comfortable with a tool built in New Zealand and priced in another currency. | You want UK-native Open Banking depth, UK tax context, or a person to talk to. |
WealthR | You want a lightweight, UK-focused net worth tracker and nothing more. | You want planning, scenarios or guidance on top of the number. |
Moola | You were aggregating in order to answer a question: am I on track, can I afford this, what happens if I go part time. | You want a pure budgeting app. We do not do envelope budgeting or receipt scanning. |
More on Moola, since we are one of the options. Moola connects your accounts over read-only Open Banking, holds them in one plan across more than thirty currencies at ECB reference rates with no added margin, and projects your position forward month by month to age 100, including the age at which your money could cover your costs.
The bit that is different
You can ask Moola questions in WhatsApp. Not a search box — a conversation, answered from your actual connected accounts. "Can I afford a £30k car?" "What happens to my pension if I drop to four days a week?" "Am I better off moving back to the UK?"
Your first three questions are free, so you can find out whether the answers are any good before deciding anything. Behind it, real financial coaches are available when a question needs a person rather than a model.
One thing to be clear about: Moola gives general financial guidance to help you think clearly. It is not regulated financial advice, and it never moves your money.
What it costs
Moola is free to use, including your first three WhatsApp questions, the full dashboard, your net worth and your projection to age 100. Moola Pro is £10.99 a month or £99.99 a year - the annual plan saves £31.89, about three months free. Pro adds unlimited WhatsApp questions, unlimited what-if scenarios, bank connections kept fresh, and ongoing coaching. Cancel any time.
Moving across
Find your Moneyhub export if you made one before the deadline. If you did not, contact Moneyhub directly; do not assume it is gone until they tell you so.
Start free on Moola. No card, about two minutes.
Connect your accounts, or enter figures by hand if you would rather not connect anything yet. Both work.
Ask it the question that made you aggregate everything in the first place.
Before you trust the next one
You have just had a financial app taken away from you. It happened in an orderly way, with notice and an export button, which is more than many people get. But it happened.
So before you settle into a new one, here's two questions we'll answer for you at Moola.
Can I get my data out? Yes, today, as a file you can open. If the answer is buried or vague, that is your answer.
Who pays for this? It is worth knowing who a product is ultimately built to serve, because that is what decides its direction when priorities have to be chosen.
Ask any app you are about to trust: can I get my data out, and who pays for this?
Ask us both questions too. We charge users because we would rather answer to them, and your data is exportable from the first day you put it in.
Common questions
Has Moneyhub really closed?
The consumer app has. Moneyhub Financial Technology continues as an open banking and data provider for businesses, and its platform also runs WPS LifeStage, the app Moneyhub pointed its own users toward. Moneyhub's own help centre gives 31 July 2026 as the date the app was sunsetted and the deadline to migrate or export. Some earlier press coverage reported a later date, which is why you may see August quoted elsewhere.
Is Open Banking safe on Moola?
Connections are read-only administered through our open banking provier Yapily. Moola can see balances and transactions; it cannot move money, and you can disconnect any account at any time. This is the same regulated framework Moneyhub itself used.
Can I track accounts outside the UK on Moola?
Yes. This is the part we have spent most time on. Moola handles more than thirty currencies, converts at European Central Bank reference rates with no margin added, and refreshes nightly. It is also available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and French.
Do I have to pay to try Moola?
Not to start. The free tier covers the aggregated picture and the projection, which is most of what Moneyhub gave you.
